Montessori-Inspired Pre Kindergarten Program
Overview: Our Montessori-inspired preschool program at La Salle Academy offers a nurturing and faith-based learning environment for children ages 3 to 5. This program integrates the principles of Montessori education with the values and teachings of the Catholic faith, providing a holistic approach to early childhood education.
Program Options:
- 3-Day Program: Full Day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
- 5-Day Program: Full Day Monday through Friday
- Both Options: 8am-2:30pm, with aftercare available for an additional cost
Curriculum:
- Montessori Method: Child-centered learning that encourages independence, self-discipline, and hands-on exploration. Classrooms are equipped with Montessori materials designed to develop practical life skills, sensory perception, language, mathematics, and cultural understanding.
- Catholic Faith Integration: Daily prayer, Bible stories, and lessons on Christian values are incorporated into the curriculum. The program also includes celebrations of Catholic feast days and participation in Mass and other religious activities.
- Social and Emotional Development: Emphasis on building a respectful and compassionate community. Activities are designed to foster social skills, emotional intelligence, and a sense of belonging.
- Creative Arts and Physical Education: Regular opportunities for creative expression through art, music, and movement. Physical education is also included to promote gross motor skills and overall health.
Daily Schedule:
- Arrival and Free Play: Welcoming children and providing time for free play and social interaction.
- Circle Time: Group activities including prayer, singing, and discussion of the day's themes.
- Work Period: Individual and small-group activities with Montessori materials, guided by teachers.
- Snack Time: Snack time, with a focus on grace and manners. We encourage parents to send in healthy snacks for students.
- Outdoor Play: Time spent in the playground or garden, promoting physical activity and exploration of nature.
- Lunch: Students can purchase lunch from our cafeteria or pack a lunch each day.
- Rest/Quiet Time: Nap time is offered each day for Pre K 1 students, and is optional for Pre K 2 students. Students who do not nap have quiet/reflection time and the teacher uses this time to work one on one with students on work or special projects.
- Dismissal: Preparing for departure with a closing prayer and recap of the day.
Enrollment:
Parents can choose between the 3-day or 5-day program based on their child's needs and family schedule. This Catholic school program is a child's first experience with Catholic education and children of all faiths are welcome.

Pre-Kindergarten 1
Students must be 3 years of age by September 1st.
Pre-Kindergarten 2
Students must be 4 years of age by September 1st.
​Students are eligible to attend at age 5 based on readiness.
