Our Philosophy
La Salle Academy acknowledges as our central focus the education and development of the total child in a Christ-Centered environment. We believe the child’s experiences garnered in an atmosphere of faith will lead to an awareness that religion is not just a creed to be learned but a life to be lived. We acknowledge that our students’ Baptismal right to the heritage and rich tradition of the Catholic faith cannot be denied.
One of our greatest responsibilities as Catholic educators is to build a healthy self-concept in each student. Through personal interactions, the child becomes aware of and accepts the gifts as well as the limitations of self and others. In an atmosphere of encouragement, the child develops not only academic, but also spiritual, social, physical, and emotional potential. With continual nurturing, the child learns to respond to the God-given dignity of each person.
La Salle Academy recognizes the parents as the foremost educators and acknowledges the trust placed in us as professional educators. We strive to create an environment of mutual respect by developing a cooperative spirit among home, school, and parish communities. We embrace our teaching ministry as a call to spread the Good News of the gospel. In an atmosphere of faith, hope, and love, we build and celebrate the relationship between God and this community of His people. Ultimately, our purpose is to send forth well-informed, morally conscientious citizens prepared and eager to give responsible Christian witness as well as service to the world.
