Alter Servers
At our La Salle, students who serve as altar servers at their home parish have the opportunity to continue serving during our school masses. This meaningful role, which begins in 4th grade, allows students to actively participate in the liturgical life of our school community while deepening their faith and sense of service. Contact your parish office if you would like your child to serve at Liturgies.
Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
We are fortunate to host Scouting programs that are organized and led by dedicated parents in our community. While these programs are not directly affiliated with the school, they provide opportunities for our students to participate in scouting activities and develop important life skills in a familiar and supportive environment. The Girl Scouts meet regularly at this school facilities, where parents volunteer their time to organize meetings, plan outings, and facilitate badge-earning activities. These programs offer a range of enriching experiences, from outdoor adventures and team-building exercises to community service projects and leadership development opportunities. By participating in Girl Scouts, these students not only forge lasting friendships and learn practical skills but also embody the values of responsibility, citizenship, and service that are central to our school's mission. We are proud to support these parent-led scouting programs as they empower our students to grow into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals. Girl Scouts enjoy wearing their vests on days when they have meetings!
Declamation- CYO (Catholic Youth Organization)
Declamation is an enriching program tailored for our 7th and 8th-grade students, designed to cultivate their oratory skills and confidence. In this program, participants select a speech from a renowned orator or piece of literature, meticulously memorize it, and then deliver it passionately before a panel of judges. Through this process, students not only hone their public speaking abilities but also deepen their understanding and appreciation of powerful rhetoric and timeless messages. Declamation serves as a platform for our students to showcase their talents, express themselves articulately, and inspire others with their impassioned delivery. This program not only fosters essential communication skills but also instills in our students the importance of eloquence, persuasion, and effective storytelling. Furthermore, the top two scoring students from our school move forward to compete against other talented speakers from across the county, further challenging themselves and representing our school with distinction on a broader stage.
Kitchen Kapers- CYO (Catholic Youth Organization)
CYO also sponsors Kitchen Kapers, usually held during the week of Catholic Schools Week. Students submit choose something to make, categories include appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, salads, or desserts. Students must submit a recipe along with the food item on the day of competition and the judges taste the food and give feedback and points. Students must make their own recipe themselves, they cannot have assistance from parents or family members. This is again a great way for students to try something new, learn a new skill, and gain valuable skills outside of classroom education. Check back in January for more information or to sign your student up! Kitchen Kapers is open to students starting in 5th grade.
Student Council
Our Student Council, comprised of 8th-grade members and representatives from 6th and 7th grades, plays a vital role in leading our school community each year. Elected by their peers, these dedicated students focus primarily on organizing and spearheading various community outreach initiatives. This past year, our Student Council orchestrated a successful food drive and toy drive during the holiday season, ensuring that those in need within our community received support and joy during this special time. Additionally, they raised funds through dress-down days and a bake sale, totaling $750, which were generously donated to the Variety Club of Delaware County.
